OUR PROGRAMS

Temple Rodef Shalom Early Childhood Center offers many classes serving children from birth (with a caregiver) through kindergarten.

First Friends

A weekly interactive parent-child class for children between ages one and two. The class is facilitated by a teacher and includes art, music, snack, and Jewish holiday activities.

A grandparent or caregiver is welcome to attend with the child.

Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

First Year Moms' Group

Celebrate your infant's first year and connect with other new mothers in a meaningful way. This moms' group meets Friday mornings to discuss parenting issues, support one another, and share stories. Moms and babies observe Shabbat together each week.

Stepping Stones

For children turning 2 between 10/1/24 and 12/31/24

Stepping Stones is a program designed to support your child's transition from attending school with a caregiver to attending school independently.

All students will attend school independently by mid-January; exact dates depend on each class's readiness.

Wednesday/Friday 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday/Thursday 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

2-Year-Olds

For children turning 2 on or before 9/30/24
Children are not expected to be toilet-independent

2-year-olds are like sponges, soaking up information from the world around them! At school, they learn new words and concepts, explore the world with their senses, build gross- and fine-motor skills through play, develop early literacy and math skills, engage in pretend-play, and begin building a sense of independence.

2 days per week 9:00 a.m. - Noon

3 days per week 9:00 a.m. - Noon

5 days per week 9:00 a.m. - Noon

3-Year-Olds

For children turning 3 on or before 9/30/24
Children are expected to be working on becoming toilet-independent

3-year-olds are curious and eager to learn about the world around them! At school, they ask and answer "why" questions, build early literacy and math skills, learn new words and grammar through conversational speech, develop gross- and fine-motor skills through play and art activities, explore the world around them through their senses, and become more and more social with friends and grownups!

Pre-K

For children turning 4 on or before 9/30/24
Children are expected to be toilet-independent

4-year-olds are social, energetic learners! At school, they learn more literacy and math skills, practice social skills like turn-taking and conversation, further build a sense of independence and competence, practice gross- and fine-motor skills through play and at-the-table activities, learn about the world around them by exploring with their senses and asking questions, and engage in imaginative pretend play!

5 days per week 9:00 a.m. - Noon

5 days per week 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

TRS PROGRAMS EXTENDING THE DAY

TRS ECC students are eligible for Temple Rodef Shalom's extended day programs. These programs are available for regular attendance as well as on a drop-in basis (Extended Aftercare not eligible for drop-in). Contact the ECC office to arrange a drop-in!

Before Care 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Available for children enrolled in 2s and up - Drop-ins welcome!

Aftercare 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Available for children enrolled in 3s 5-day EXT and Pre-K EXT - Drop-ins welcome!

Extended Aftercare Pick-up at 5:30 p.m. - NEW in 2024-2025 - Enrollment only for the whole year
